KSU Students Threaten Lecturers

KSU STUDENTS THREATEN LECTURERS.

It will be recalled that the Academic Staff Union of University ASUU KSU chapter resolved in their meeting yesterday that there is no going back in the ongoing strike.

On this note, some anonymous aggrieved students of the institution have released a warning to all lecturers after the ASUU meeting yesterday to vacate from the staff quarters early today.

These aggrieved students who gathered early this morning at Idachaba LT to press home their demands which is reopening of the institution have been urged to exercise patience.

The Chief security Official (CSO)  of the university addressed the aggrieved students to be calm and promised that everything will be resolved and all academic activities will resume fully on Monday the 17th of July, 2017. The CSO who was interrupted with a solidarity song by all the students was later allowed to finally say something.

Early this morning, troop of Army was at Idachaba Lecture Theater to monitor the environment. although we don't know the reason behind their visit but our correspondence Yinka Oluwafemi who was at the venue said it was because of the planned peaceful protest and the treat to the lecturer's by the students.

In another news, KSU Digital centre  is still under locked as at the time of compiling this news.

We spoke with one of the staff of the digital centre on phone and he said "It's being locked due to security threat".

Mostly all the newly admitted students who were affected with the online screening exercise which need to be rectified at the digital centre were not attended to and this made them returned back to their various lodges.

After the CSO addressed, the Chairman of JCC Comrade Attaja and the Igala Student's Association (ISA)  urged all the student's to remain calm and wait till Monday and also promised that if nothing is done, they will stage a protest.

Our correspondence also met with a man who refused to disclose his identity. When asked what the students should do if academic activities did not kick starts on Monday. But he said "He should be arrested".

It will be recalled that after ASUU Marathon meeting yesterday, the University Management have released a memo urging ASUU to resume academic activities and also direct all Dean's of Faculties and Provost of College of Health to take attendance.
