Seun Kuti slams parents attending political rallies while their kids stay at home due to ASUU strike

Afrobeat musician, and son to the popular Fela KUTI, Seun Kuti has slammed Nigerian parents who attend political rallies while their kids are out of school.

With the 2019 general elections fast approaching, many students of higher institutions in the country are still at home due to a strike action by the Academic and Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
In the face of this, many parents of such students still have the energy to attend campaign rallies of politicians whose kids are not bothered by the strike because they school abroad.
Reacting to the situation, Seun Kuti shared on social media:
“Until we are ready to serve our children and not just raise them, we shall never understand national development. How hijab crisis in a secular school can create more outrage than the closure of our university for months is the proof we need to know that we are willing to serve everything else but our children. Learn to serve your children not just raise them! #getthesax.”
